Yestermorrow

Yestermorrow is a design/build school in Waitsfield, Vermont, focused hands-on coursework for construction, woodworking and architectural craft. Started by renegade architects from the Yale school of architecture in the 1970s, the school spawned a movement focused on empowering people to design/build their own homes, or at least be well versed enough to productively collaborate with their building team.

During a two-week intensive that was part lecture, part drafting, part hands-on construction I was able to dive deep into sketching, building, and model-making, alongside framing and basic construction techniques. Not photographed: Vermont swimming holes, wildflowers, and warm evenings punctuated by thunderstorms.
